Day 151 - Final Inspection

Today we had the final inspection and it all went pretty well. The flooring isn't in yet, it will be done after handover when the floorboards become available. The front deck will hopefully be done this week.

We had a couple of pages of items that need to be rectified but nothing major. Hopefully the items will be resolved by the end of this week or worst case early next week. I'm hoping to get a more specific date for handover on Wednesday.

The render was being finished off today while we were at the house, the colours looked great.

The front poritco render after it was finished.
the carpet is down in the master bedroom
The robe fitout has been installed
The carpet in the hallway..
All in all things are looking good and we're really happy, lets just hope now that we can get it over the line within the next week and a half.

  1. Hey guys, things are looking great - fantastic job on facade colours, looks ace! We just got our contract last week and they're quoting 370 days :( but hoping things run smooth and we're in quicker. Did you get any independent inspections done too?

  2. Thanks!!!, it is very exciting getting the contract. We've still got about 130 days left of the contract, the main thing you can hope for is a good site supervisor, our guy was very good so as a result we've only been building for 5 months and we'vre basically done.

We had independant inspections done at every stage except for the slab stage, they did the slab and frame at the same time. I would definintely recommend it.

Best of luck with your build, I'll be keeping an eye on it.

    Cheers,
    Ben

  3. Hi Ben,

great job on the house, it looks fantastic. We were looking at the same bricks and window fascia etc as what you have used, however yesterday went to Austral and the display wall looks much lighter (almost like a diff brick) than your pic's and also the colour sample on the Austal website. So now we are thinking of going back to Boral Espresso - our only concern is it may be too dark. I am not sure if they have varied Chocolate since you built your house. Just wondered if you had any pic's if your spotted gum floors? Thanks heaps
